The club opted to close the academy building at the City Football Academy last Friday for a deep-clean when the number of positive cases from an academy training camp jumped into double figures.

All Under-18s and Under-23s players and staff who weren't already self-isolating were told to stay away from the training ground for 10 days in an attempt to break the circuit of positive cases and eliminate cross-contamination with Pep Guardiola and the first-team stars, who returned on Monday.
