A post-graduate student believes he is one of the few people in the world to have been successfully vaccinated against Covid-19 after taking part in a trial.
David Rach was the first person to be injected as part of a vaccine trial at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in May - and said: "The early data results are indeed positive." US pharmaceutical giant Pfizer - which has produced the potential vaccine alongside German firm BioNTech - reports the trial appears to be proving successful.
Trialists are said to be producing antibodies against the virus at a rate higher or equal to those who have previously actually contracted it.
