MUMBAI : Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray-led Maharashtra govt has reduced the rates of the coronavirus tests conducted by private laboratories from ₹4,500 to ₹2,200.
Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Rajesh Tope on Saturday announced the new rate list set up by the Maharashtra govt which he claims are lowest in the country.Mahrashtra new covid test rates:Labs can't charge more than ₹2,200 for collecting the swabs through viral transport media (VTM) from hospitals, while it would cost ₹2,800 for collection of swab from home.
Tope said the lowering of rates for the tests would provide a relief to the people.Earlier, the charges were ₹4,500 and ₹5,200 respectively.
