"[Anthony] has specifically articulated to the police, more than once, the facts surrounding the incident and explained that he believed he was in imminent danger, and at this time we don’t believe there is anything to overcome those statements." Michael Earl-Wayne Anthony, 33, was working as a security guard for the Walgreens at 4th and Market Streets in San Francisco, when he shot and killed Brown, 24, on April 27 during an altercation in which Brown was allegedly shoplifting. In a surveillance video obtained by KTVU, Anthony can be seen trying to stop Brown as he tries to leave Walgreens with a bag of items. The video shows Anthony trying to stop Brown from exiting the store with a blue bag filled with items, and Brown pushing Anthony's shoulder first. Anthony then shoves back, the video shows, and the two began to physically struggle. The pair began to wrestle and Anthony brings Brown to the ground and applies what looks like a choke hold while on Brown's back, the video shows.

ESCONDIDO, Calif. - An 8-week-old kitten is on the mend after the tiny animal got its head stuck in the frame of a truck in California. The driver of the truck was on the road on Monday and heard "meowing sounds" at a stop sign, according to the San Diego Humane Society. Upon further inspection, the driver discovered the female kitten with its head stuck in a hole in the frame of the truck.RELATED: Watch: Police respond to calls for help, turns out to be 'very upset goat'The truck driver contacted the San Diego Humane Society, whose staff members sedated the kitten and worked to safely extract the animal. "After sedating the kitten, they patiently used Q-tips to dislodge her head and free her from the tight spot," the humane society said in a post on Facebook about the ordeal. The kitten was then taken to the humane society’s Escondido campus "for additional care, including pain medication, fluids, antibiotics and a good meal."The kitten is pictured in screengrabs from a video shared by the San Diego Humane Society of the rescue.

Smyth and the victim then exchanged contact information. The two then met up in the victim's dorm room, and after a playing a game and having a conversation, Smyth is accused of then sexually assaulting the victim.

LOS ANGELES - A Long Beach man allegedly drove from California to North Ogden, Utah to kill his brother then set his house on fire, according to the Weber County Attorney's Office.Officials say on April 27, Jeffrey Roberts, 66, arrived at his brother's home around 7:11 p.m., parked his van in the driveway, approached the front door and rang the doorbell. His brother, Scott Roberts and his wife were home alone eating when Jeffrey arrived. The two brothers began talking on the front porch and within a few minutes, Jeffrey Roberts pulled out a gun from his jacket and began firing. Parts of the incident were caught on a Ring doorbell camera which the attorney's office has since shared with the public. Both Scott Roberts and his wife were struck by gunfire. Neighbors then called 911 after hearing multiple gunshots. Following the shooting, video shows the suspect exist the house then return shortly with a bag and shotgun in hand.
