Madonna has sparked controversy for posting a video of her teenage son on social media in a response to racism. David Banda, 14, danced to Michael Jackson’s They Don’t Care About Us, from what looked like the star’s kitchen, in the clip.
Madonna said the performance was a tribute to George Floyd, a handcuffed black man who died after pleading for air as a white police officer knelt on his neck. “Brutal murder travels around the world my son David dances to honour and pay tribute to George and his family and all acts of racism and discrimination that happen on a daily basis in America,” she wrote on Twitter.
