Loyal dog waits for tragic owner who died from Covid two weeks ago to return home

Heartbreaking pictures show a pooch guarding his owner's home, unbeknown to him that his best friend died in hospital of Covid-19.

Saeng-Ngern Thanarungwit, 76, was admitted to hospital in south-central Thailand on April 20 and died just nine days later. His families were also struck by the virus, meaning Mr Thanarungwit's house has been left empty.

Footage shows the brown dog standing inside a garage while loyally guarding the property against strangers in the Chachoengsao province on May 4.
