Days later, on the afternoon of April 30, a witness and 45-year-old Anthony Ham went to the residence on North Broad Street to check on Benjamin McMichael, who they had not heard from for several days, authorities say. According to police, Ham entered the home through a window and then opened the door for the unnamed witness. While checking the home, Ham confronted Czar McMichael on the third floor and they got into a verbal altercation, police say. Delaware State Police: 4 hurt, 1 teen killed in 'near head-on collision' in Lewes

PHILADELPHIA - Delaware State Police is investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that sent four to the hospital and killed a teenager in Lewes, Delaware. According to police, the crash happened on Friday at 2:10 p.m. Investigators say a Honda CR-V traveling eastbound on Lewes-Georgetown Highway (Route 9) was approaching the intersection at Ebb Tide Drive when a 2009 Ram 1500 traveling westbound on the highway.The Honda failed to observe the stopped traffic and swerved into the westbound lane where the Ram swerved towards the shoulder, state police say. Police say the vehicles crashed "in a near head-on collision" and the Honda overturned and struck a utility pole before coming to a stop. According to investigators, five people were in the Honda, including an 18-year-old male and 17-year-old female from Bear, an 18-year-old female from Wilmington, and a 16-year-old female and 17-year-old male from Middletown. All of the passengers were transported to local hospitals with two having non-life-threatening injuries, two in critical condition and one who died from injuries at the hospital. According to police, 17-year-old Dakhyi Floyd of Middletown was identified as the teen who died. The 77-year-old driver of the Ram was treated and released from an area hospital, police say. Couple accused of breaking into more than 250 vehicles across Pennsylvania pleads guilty

HARRISBURG, Pa. - A Pennsylvania couple has been charged with the theft and burglary of more than 250 vehicles, according to Attorney General Josh Shapiro. On Tuesday, authorities identified the couple as Keith Johnson and Jessica Fletcher of Yardley. Police say an investigation began after a series of unsolved car break-ins occurred in Bucks County over several months. The couple's crime spree spread across many counties in southeastern Pennsylvania, including Montgomery County and Philadelphia. Investigators say they also discovered that Johnson and Fletcher stole $150,000 in cash from a Philadelphia home on Christmas night in 2019.

Officials announce charges in connection with illegal trafficking of nearly 400 guns to the Philadelphia area

PHILADELPHIA - Federal authorities say nearly 400 guns purchased in southern states and illegally trafficked into the Philadelphia area have been seized in two interstate gun trafficking cases. According to officials with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, 14 people were charged in the indictment for illegally selling guns from southern states to people in Philadelphia.ATF officials say they met with multiple agencies in April 2021 to come up with a plan to combat rising crime in Philadelphia, including violent carjackings. Authorities say Frederick Norman, Brianna Walker, Stephen Norman, Charles O'Bannon, Devin Church, Roger Millington, Ernest Payton, Kenneth Burgos, Edwin Burgos, Roselmy Rodriguez and Brianna Reed were charged in connection with the first trafficking case in Georgia. BRISTOL, Pa. - A large contingent of law enforcement officers traveled to Bucks County on Wednesday for a viewing for Pennsylvania State Trooper Martin Mack III, who was killed by an alleged drunk driver on I-95 in Philadelphia in March."We have to continue to pray for them every day they’re doing a very difficult job and obviously it can have deadly consequences and I just feel awful," Bucks County District Attorney Matthew Weintraub said. The deadly crash happened over a week ago on Interstate 95 in South Philadelphia near the sports complex. Investigators said Mack, 33, and fellow Pennsylvania State Trooper Branden Sisca, 29, were called to the area to assist a man who was walking on the highway. PHILADELPHIA - The family of a Philadelphia man whose body was found wrapped in a tarp and dumped in a vacant lot in Kensington is searching for answers. According to investigators, the body of 34-year-old Sirius Star was found Friday in the vacant lot on the 2800 block of Ruth Street. Police say Star's hands and feet were bound, and the medical examiner's office determined that he died from a gunshot wound to the forehead. A short video clip obtained by FOX 29 shows two people pushing the body in a shopping cart and trying to move it. In the days following the gruesome discovery, Star's family told FOX 29's Kelly Rule that he split time between Philadelphia and Las Vegas. He worked odd jobs while in Philadelphia and sold solar panels while in Las Vegas. According to investigators, the body of 34-year-old Sirius Star was found Friday in the vacant lot on the 2800 block of Ruth Street. Family members say Starr was working at a home construction project on Rorer Street, which isn't far from the vacant lot where his body was found.

'All hands on deck': North Philadelphia residents sound of on scourge of violence

PHILADELPHIA - Residents fed up with gun violence in their neighborhoods sat down with city officials Tuesday night in North Philadelphia to share ideas on what could save lives as the gun violence crisis worsens. "If we don’t continue to stay on track and recognize what are the issues that are kind of the root causes to the violence that we are seeing, we are never going to come out of this," Senior Director of Criminal Justice and Public Safety Erica Atwood said. According to authorities, 25-year-old Deon Lamont Hudson of Philadelphia was arrested on Friday. He was charged with 39 counts of unlawful sale or transfer of a firearm and conspiracy to commit the unlawful sale or transfer of a firearm, the Bucks County District Attorney's Office announced.Investigators say Hudson purchased 16 firearms at 8 different gun stores across Bucks, Montgomery, Philadelphia and Delaware counties between August 2020 and November 2021.
