Through donors’ support, WHO coordinates movement of vital supplies for pandemic response and beyond

“The only way we get through events like COVID-19 [as well as other major emergencies where support in the delivery of supplies is needed], is to share and collaborate,” said Paul Molinaro, WHO’s chief of the office of supplies and logistics, in a recent interview.

Beyond its leadership role in the COVAX Facility that has enabled the global roll-out of vaccination, WHO has also been working with partners in wider response efforts to the pandemic and other health emergencies, focusing on areas with fragile health systems and vulnerable communities. COLOMBO (News 1st); Cabinet approved to appoint a committee to report to the Cabinet on the Acts, Rules, and Regulations to attract investments and investors in the areas of Digital Banking, Blockchain & Blockchain-related industries such as cryptocurrency.This committee will be mandated to study the regulations and initiatives of other countries such as Dubai, Malaysia, Philippines, EU, and Singapore etc, and propose a suitable framework for Sri Lanka.The committee will also study the laws and regulations of other countries in terms of anti-money laundering, terrorism financing, criminal activities, and the Know Your Customer processes.The committee comprises the following experts in their field:Sujeewa Mudalige (Chairman)Sadun HapugodaD.
