Labour leader Alan Kelly has accused the Taoiseach of telling "porkies". During Leaders' Questions, Mr Kelly said that Micheál Martin had told him that teachers would be exempt from the stay-at-home rule, something Government has since said is not the case.
In a tense exchange, Mr Martin told Mr Kelly that he "learned something" about him yesterday what transpired will govern how their relationship will work from now on. "I've never seen the likes of it before," the Taoiseach said.
He told Mr Kelly that he never told him that teachers were exempt from the stay-at-home rule. Mr Kelly told him that many teachers probably do not care about the "schoolboy row", but "if you want to call me a liar, call me a liar".
