Kate Garraway husband Derek's devastating Covid battle hit ITV team 'really hard'

Lorraine Kelly has applauded ITV for the way the crew handled the Covid-19 pandemic and has recognised how "incredible" Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway is after her challenging year.In March 2020, Kate's husband Derek was diagnosed with coronavirus and was in hospital, returning home only earlier this year, after over a year in the care of health staff.Lorraine has stressed how the entire time at ITV were affected as they saw what was happening within Kate's immediate family.Speaking to MailOnline, Lorraine said it hit them "really hard" when Derek was diagnosed.She said: "With that and having Dr Hillary [Jones] on our team, we were so on it at ITV."Everything was done so well in terms of safety and social distancing and.
