Kate Garraway has given an update on her husband Derek Draper's health as she opened up on the importance of gardening and how it helps her cope.
The Good Morning Britain presenter has been busy doing work in her green space in an attempt to improve her and her family's life, after Derek was left with serious and longstanding health issues after he contracted coronavirus in March 2020.
Derek spent months in hospital, and doctors said he had the worst coronavirus infection of any surviving patient. It was a while before he was finally being able to come home, but he still requires round the clock care, lots of which is provided by Kate herself and the couple's two children - Billy and Darcy.Appearing on Love Your Garden last night, Kate opened up about how difficult it is for her and her family with Derek's condition, she explained: "The garden needs to be more than a space to go into.
I really want to grow some plants to improve our health and wellbeing."Kate admitted that she was excited when it all came together. She added: "I love the idea that there's plants that look good, smell good and do good.
