Manchester United's games against both Brentford and Brighton and Hove Albion both had to be postponed due to an outbreak within the squad, with their Carrington training ground also closing down to reduce infection.

The Reds are not scheduled to be back in action until December 27, but with rumours circulating surrounding a potential nationwide circuit breaker, it could mean Ralf Rangnick's side may not take to the grass until the new year.

PHILADELPHIA - No one was injured after a gunman opened fire on a Philadelphia police officer during a shootout Wednesday afternoon in Germantown.Philadelphia Police Sergeant Eric Gripp told reporters that two plainclothes officers in an unmarked car were patrolling the 4800 block of Keyser Street around 2 p.m. when they came upon a shootout between a 23-year-old and a 20-year-old.
