NEWTOWN, Pa. - Firefighter in Bucks County rescued a man from the roof of a burning condo fire that erupted Fourth of July morning.Emergency crews responded to Nathan Court in the Newtown Gate Townhomes community for reports of a two-story fire at an end unit. Firefighters from the Newtown Fire Department said when they arrived they found a man standing on the roof of the burning home. Deputy Chief Liz Ellis told reporters the firefighters quickly stretched a ladder to the roof and helped guide the man down. He was brought to a local hospital with burns, FOX 29's Joann Pileggi reports. A neighbor who witnessed the Independence Day blaze first thought the sirens were from a local parade, then smelled the smoke. "I was actually hearing sirens going on like nearby I thought they were passing by the highway maybe Fourth of July related but then my Ring door alarm said there’s a fire, and it gave my street name, and then I smelled smoke and ran outside," Devrim Eren said.The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

MUMBAI : The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) on Monday agreed to look into the Covid-19 policy claims that were rejected by insurance companies.  This comes after a public interest litigation was filed by a Manav Seva Dham (petitioner), a social services’ trust against various insurance companies before the Bombay High Court.  According to the petition, it has been alleged that various insurance providers engaged in a number of offences, misusing policyholder funds, rerouting funds through additional businesses, and paying exorbitant overriding commissions to banks and their agents.  “The insurance companies are unjustly denying their Covid-19-related claims, it claimed, even in the midst of the ongoing pandemic Covid-19, in which the country’s residents have not only lost their jobs but also depleted their money", it said.  Additionally, the petitioner submitted that Insurance companies have caused wrongful losses to the policyholders.  Essentially the petitioner asked the court to ass an order to ensure that the insurance claims submitted by the policyholders due to Covid-19 pandemic were not arbitrarily rejected.  The petition stated that due to the widespread pandemic the general insurance companies received a significant lot of claims from the policyholders. PHILADELPHIA - Two individuals taken into custody in connection with Saturday's deadly mass shooting on South Street will be facing murder charges, Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner announced Thursday. This comes one day after officials released photos of two males who were identified as the third and fourth suspects in the shooting that left three people dead and nearly a dozen wounded on the popular Philadelphia street. Krasner identified the two suspects as Quadir Dukes-Hill, 18 and Nahjee Whittington, 18. Both were taken into custody by U.S. Marshalls in Virginia, according to Krasner. Officials say Dukes-Hill is facing murder charges in connection with the fatal shooting of Alexis Quinn, 27. According to Krasner, Whittington was just four days shy of his 18th birthday when he allegedly fired the shot that fatally struck Kristopher Minners, 22, and injured another man. Joanne Pescatore, the head of the DAO's Homicide Unit, said the department received several tips after posting photos of the suspects with a reward for information. Dukes-Hill and Whittington will be charged in adult court after a hearing in Virginia to extradite them back to Philadelphia. Pescatore says investigators believe the suspects are friends because they were seen wearing hoodies with the same logo and they are believed to have traveled to Virginia together. Two other suspects, Quran Garner and Rashaan Vereen, were taken into custody by authorities on Monday and they face several charges related to the shooting. Police believe the shooting stemmed from a fist fight between three men that escalated into a shootout.
