PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police have released video of an ambush shooting that occurred in broad daylight in Kensington and left a man critically injured. The shooting happened Thursday, May 5, on the 1800 block of East Clementine Street. Video shows the victim standing on the corner of Clementine Street and Kensington Avenue when he was approached by the armed suspect. The suspect, who was armed with two handguns, fired several shots and struck the victim multiple times, police say.

PHILADELPHIA - A man is in critical condition after police say he was shot multiple times through the upper body on Friday.The shooting occurred on the 3000 block of North 17th Street shortly before noon in North Philadelphia. Police say the 25-year-old victim was shot multiple times in the chest and back.

McMaster Children’s Hospital (MCH) has made a plea to the next Ontario government to invest a $1 billion over four years to develop a children’s health strategy – addressing surgical wait times and bolstering overall capacity in hospitals.Bruce Squires revealed around 1,300 youths are currently on the waitlist in Hamilton for procedures at the city’s health facilities and suggests the delays are having “devastating impacts” on their physical and mental well-being.“This is because kids have taken the brunt of the pandemic. PHILADELPHIA - A Philadelphia man is facing murder charges after authorities say he claimed to have accidentally shot the driver of a car his was riding in last weekend. Marcus Moore, 34, was arrested Wednesday and charged with homicide in the shooting death of Maurice Jones early Sunday morning. According to investigators, Moore and two others were inside a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Morris when he was shot on I-95 near Columbus Boulevard. Police said Moore drove the Jeep to the emergency room at Jefferson Hospital and left in the car by the time officers arrived. Morris was later pronounced dead.Police later found the Jeep abandoned near the intersection of Front Street and Washington Avenue.

COMPTON, Calif. - Authorities are searching for two suspects wanted in connection with an attempted armed robbery of a smoke shop in Compton that resulted in the death of a man. It happened Tuesday evening at the "Smoke Shop" located in the 1500 block of S. Wilmington Avenue. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, four suspects entered the shop and pointed their handguns at an armed security guard inside.

DELAWARE COUNY - Nurses, paramedics and county officials all came out Wednesday to protest possible closures within the Crozer Health System.Several services are set to close across four Delaware County hospitals unless they approximately $24 million to Crozer's for-profit California-based owner Prospect Medical Holdings, according to officials.Those services include mental and rehabilitation, along with inpatient and outpatient substance abuse and crisis.Hospital staff, joined by local, county and state leaders, say they are fighting because lives are at stake. PHILADELPHIA - Authorities say a jogger is expected to be okay after she was stabbed in the leg Wednesday afternoon in Center City.According to police, the 27-year-old victim was stabbed in the left thigh while jogging on the 800 block of South Broad Street around 4:30 p.m. The victim walked into a fire station roughly a block from where she was stabbed, police said. She was taken to Jefferson University Hospital where she was treated and released. AdvertisementPolice did not report any arrests immediately following the stabbing, and they did not share a motive or description of the suspect.

PHILADELPHIA - A Philadelphia man is facing federal charges for allegedly shooting a SWAT officer who was executing an arrest warrant at a Fairhill apartment building last February. United States Attorney Jennifer Arbittier Williams on Wednesday said 35-year-old Kristian Reyes was wanted by authorities for state probation and parole violations. Members of the Philadelphia Police Department's SWAT team went to arrest Reyes at a property on the 100 block of West Lehigh Avenue on Feb. 11, but they did not receive a response after announcing their presence, according to investigators. Officers breached the door and headed up a narrow stairwell to a third-floor apartment and knocked where they again announced their presence but received no response. A Philadelphia police SWAT officer was treated and released at a local hospital after police say he was shot in his bulletproof vest in North Philadelphia while serving a warrant.While waiting for equipment to gain access to the apartment, investigators say the leader of the SWAT team heard multiple popping sounds and realized he was shot in the vest. The officer was rushed to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

PHILADELPHIA - Police say they are searching for a suspect wanted for a commercial robbery at a Walgreens in Northeast Philadelphia.On April 16 at around 9:50 p.m. police say they responded to a robbery in progress at the Walgreens on Frankford Avenue. The employee of the Walgreens told police that a man entered the store and demanded the money from the register.

PHILADELPHIA - A 14-year-old is in the hospital after being shot in West Oak Lane early Wednesday morning. According to police, the incident happened at a private residence 1900 block of Georgian Road just before 3:30 a.m. Chief Inspector Scott Small says police and paramedics arrived at the residence they received no response at the door and the doors were locked. Police found an open window on the first floor and entered the residence, Small says. According to authorities, blood was found. "There was blood throughout the house on all three floors," Small says.  A relative, believed to be the teen's uncle, living in the home told police there were juveniles, including the 14-year-old, in the home, but they did not know where they were. Police say they then learned a 14-year-old shooting victim had been driven to Elkins Park Hospital by his mother. The teen was shot once in his leg and is in stable condition, Small says. According to law enforcement, the teen told police he was walking home and made eye contact with a man who then fired one shot, hitting him in the leg.
