Dublin Airport has said there has been an increase in the number of people not showing up for flights following the recent changes to travel requirements.
The airport has also revised downwards the number of people it expects to see coming through over the festive period. It now says around 850,000 people are expected to travel through Dublin Airport between Friday 17 December 2021 and Tuesday 4 January 2022.
Before the latest travel restrictions were introduced, it had projected 1.25m would travel through the airport for whole month of December.
The daa confirmed that while the estimate for this week and next is down on initial projections, it is also down more than 40% on pre-pandemic levels, with 1.5 million people travelling through
