MIAMI - Sam once again strengthened to a powerful Category 4 hurricane on Tuesday, and though it remains well offshore in the Atlantic Ocean, the storm could send swells and "life-threatening" rip currents to the Bahamas, Bermuda and eventually the U.S.
East Coast. The storm was located about 610 miles east of the northern Leeward Islands and traveling northwest at 9 mph, according to a Tuesday morning update from the National Hurricane Center.
