COLOMBO (News 1st) – The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka has decided to conduct an investigation on its own motion in to the incident where a peaceful protest at Galle Face Green on Sunday (9) was disperesed by Police.The Inspector General of Police was informed the HRCSL to submit within 24-hours the grounds that police decided as reasoning to disperse the said protest.Four people who were arrested during the protest at Galle Face Green on Sunday (9) were released on a personal bail of Rs.
500,000/- each by the Fort Magistrate's Court on Monday (10).A 16-year-old boy who was detained along with the suspects, was released on Sunday (9) night.A group of members of the Aragalaya organized the demonstration to commemorate the activists who lost their lives contributing to the Aragalaya since the 9th of April.
