The HSE is opening more free walk-in Covid-19 test centres around the country from today. The period of opening of a number of other sites is also being extended for a further seven days.
The walk-in service is free and available to people who do not have any Covid-19 symptoms. People with symptoms are still advised to contact their GP for a test appointment at a different site.
Since the first walk-in test centre, more than 62,300 people have been tested. As of this morning, 2,048 positive cases of Covid-19 were detected in people who used the walk-in testing service.
