The vaccine for human pap A new study from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows the effectiveness of the HPV vaccine since it was first recommended in 2006.
The study found that through 2018, human papillomavirus (HPV) infections decreased more than 80% among young females. HPV is the most common sexually transmitted infection in the United States, according to the CDC.
Nearly 80 million Americans are currently infected with it, and about 14 million Americans - including teenagers - become infected.
