Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan is expected to tell an Oireachtas committee this afternoon that there is a lack of evidence to support the use of rapid antigen testing to enable people to participate in certain activities.
Dr Holohan will appear before the Oireachtas Committee on Transport and Communications Networks to face questions on antigen tests as Ireland continues to reopen.
The committee will be told that NPHET is urging "significant caution" towards employing rapid antigen testing for "green light" or "enabling" activities.
