A heroic couple who rescued a freezing dog from the top of a mountain have been reported to police for breaching lockdown rules.

The Labrador - called Neesha - had been lost for two weeks in the Wicklow Mountains before the pair found her. Neesha was so cold she was unable to move - so Jean-Francois carried her home.

After the couple shared their tale on TikTok, the video went viral - reducing some viewers to tears. The couple, who both work as doctors, were reportedly staying in the Elbowroom Escape lodge in Donard, Co Wicklow, at the time of the rescue.

But a member of the public has reported the couple for breaching non-essential travel rules, and Gardai - Ireland's police force - is making enquiries into the lodge’s operations.
