A four-year-old girl sang 'You Are My Sunshine' to her grandmother as she lay dying in hospital with coronavirus, her devastated parents revealed.
Melinda Coleman passed away in Manchester Royal Infirmary aged just 54 on January 12. Just weeks earlier she had been diagnosed with cancer, which medics said was treatable.
The day before she died, her son Michael visited her on the ICU ward, the Manchester Evening News reports. As she lay unconscious, his four-year-old daughter Lily sang 'You are My Sunshine' to her on a video call. "She was probably awake for about five minutes when I visited her," Michael said. "She went back to sleep, she couldn't keep her eyes open." Daughter-in-law Chloe Sutton said: "I asked (Michael) to call us. "
