A 44-year-old healthcare worker who contracted Covid-19 six months ago has warned others not to underestimate the virus. Sinead Sheerin first experienced symptoms at the end of March.
Six months on, she is still not back to work. The Dubliner, who works in a hospital, initially thought she had a sinus infection.
But she woke up one morning with no taste or smell. She tested positive on 6 April. At first, she had trouble breathing, fatigue, nausea, headache and a high temperature.
But after two-and-a-half weeks, when she was considering going back to work, she started having trouble breathing again. She also experienced heart palpitations.
