Health chiefs are being urged to reopen the minor injuries unit at Altrincham Hospital as soon as possible to allay "local suspicion and rumour" that it may never happen.
The facility closed in November 2021 because of a shortage of emergency nurse practitioners (ENPs) and services there have been suspended ever since.
Councillor Mike Whetton, chair of Trafford's Health Scrutiny Committee, insisted on hearing a report on the latest situation at a meeting last night.
A letter to the committee from Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, which runs the hospital, indicated that the earliest the unit could reopen would be August.
