Gyms and hairdressers across Lanarkshire targeted in cops' covid crackdown

Lanarkshire are being targeted by Police Scotland. The area’s top officer has claimed the public are regularly flouting lockdown rules at both types of business.

Inspector Graem McLaughlin, from Bellshill Police Office, said he was particularly concerned with those gyms and salons that are remaining open or operating from home addresses.

He reminded business owners of the rules and “encouraged them to do the right thing.”He also revealed that a number of premises had already been targeted and that fines have been issued and reports had been sent to the Crown Office.He said: “Officers in Lanarkshire Division continue to explain the regulations & encourage people to do the right thing.“They are responding to reports of members of the public.
