Greater Manchester secondary schools plan staggered return dates as pupils get tested for Covid

Before kids broke up for the summer, the government said that pupils would be tested in schools once they reopen in September.

While some schools are opening earlier than planned to get some of the tests out of the way - they've been told testing can start from three working days before the start of term - others are sticking with their original opening dates before getting started.
