Greater Manchester's latest coronavirus infection rates as week-on-week cases more than double in Bolton

The town is a hotspot for the new Indian 'variant of concern' said to be driving the surge in infections. And at 152 cases per 100,000 people Bolton’s Covid rate is almost seven times the national average.

There were 437 positive Covid-19 tests in Bolton the week ending May 7. That accounts for one in every three positive tests in Greater Manchester and is 223 more than the previous seven days.
