Govt asking public to act responsibly ahead of Level 3

The Government has called on the public to take personal responsibility as Covid-19 restrictions are eased. Opposition parties have given a broad welcome to the announcement made by the Taoiseach, Micheál Martin, yesterday evening.

However, some business groups have expressed disappointment that the measures did not go far enough. The Vintners' Federation of Ireland said the decision not to allow wet pubs to reopen was a "stunning act of Government hypocrisy".

While the Irish Hotels Federation described the decision not to allow inter-county travel until December 18 as "short-sighted".
