Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Good Morning Britain 's Dr Hilary Jones told Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid members of the public are six times more likely to die if they contract both COVID-19 and seasonal flu.

So he recommended anyone who was eligible for a free flu jab should go ahead and book it as the government has expanded the scope of people who are eligible.

In a heated discussion with Piers and Susanna, Hilary defended the scientific advisers' broadcast on Monday which said if the country carries on at the rate it is going at, we will see 50,000 COVID-19 cases by mid-October.

Piers and Susanna slammed the government's guidelines questioning the sense in closing pubs at 10pm as Piers argued people would simply go back to each other's houses.
