NORRISTOWN, Pa. - District Attorneys in the four collar counties of Philadelphia say they have begun using a new, high-tech tracking system they think will allow them to make more gun arrests and save lives.The Nibin System analyzes the unique grooves and patterns formed on the spent shell of a bullet when it's fired. Investigators hope to us the information to link the shell to a gun and the person who pulled the trigger. His father says he was recording a prank Sunday for YouTube, involving Google’s translate feature, when 31-year-old Alan Colie became offended and reportedly shot him in the abdomen. Cook remained hospitalized Tuesday. "He has a YouTube channel, and he goes to malls, and he tries to have fun and do goofy stuff and try to get people to laugh to watch his videos," Jeremy Cook said.

Arrest made after road rage shooting in Abington, police say

(Abington Police Department)ABINGTON, Pa. - A shooting in Abington was apparently triggered by a road rage incident Wednesday morning.Abington Township Police responded to a report of road rage with shots fired at 1575 The Fairway just before 8:30 a.m.According to officials, a delivery driver and someone in another vehicle engaged in an apparent road rage incident, which culminated in a shooting.The victim reported a white van stopped abruptly in front of his delivery vehicle, got out of the van and ‘aggressively’ approached his vehicle.MORE HEADLINES:In the midst of an argument, the driver of the white van pulled a gun and they struggled.The victim was struck in the head with the gun, then the gun went off, grazing the delivery driver in the hip by the bullet, authorities said.The victim was treated at Abington Jefferson Hospital and released.Officials said, police found the van on Rodman Avenue, near Old York Road and arrested the suspect about an hour after the incident. He is identified as 21-year-old Scott Thomas, of Philadelphia.Authorities say Thomas has been charged with Aggravated Assault and related charges.

COUDERSPORT, Pa. - Fire officials say five people were taken to a hospital for treatment after an early morning fire at a northern Pennsylvania hotel that dates back to the 19th century.The blaze on the third floor of the Hotel Crittenden in downtown Coudersport in Potter County was reported shortly after 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.Chief Bryan Phelps of the Coudersport Volunteer Fire Department said 100 to 125 firefighters were called to the scene.Phelps said the blaze was under control and five people were transported to local hospitals for treatment of injuries; he said he had no update on their conditions.
