Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

DENISE Welch has hit back at Piers Morgan after he accused her of being a 'Covid-denier'. Denise, 62, appeared on This Morning on Friday where she spoke about lockdown measures and the coronavirus pandemic, urging the government to start lifting restrictions.

Piers, 55, was quick to tweet about Denise's comments on the ITV show and posted: "Dumb, deluded & dangerous Covid-deniers like Denise Welch need to stop being given airtime. "Her idiotic, ill-informed ramblings - from a woman who never stops telling us that she suffers from mental illness - will cost lives by persuading people to think the virus isn’t a threat." The Loose Women star quickly hit back: "Please ask Mr Morgan to show me one tweet, one interview where I have denied Covid?.
