Fresh coronavirus data shwos the areas of England where the killer infection is on the wane - and where it is thriving. The places where Covid-19 is growing at the quickest rate are also revealed in the government statistics.

The information with cases nationwide flattening off after a wave of lockdown restrictions have been eased in recent weeks. Gyms will be reopening indoors from Saturday, while the government is also introducing new laws to make wearing masks mandatory in shops from Friday.

Wednesday's update of the rolling seven-day rate of new cases of Covid-19 for every local authority in England shows the number of positive tests for the seven days to July 19.
