Boris Johnson has today announced that London and the South East will face tougher restrictions after being placed into a new tougher tier to tackle a rise in coronavirus infections.
The newly created Tier 4 is similar to the November lockdown and comes into force at midnight. The new rules are devastating news to the 14 million people it will affect just days before Christmas.
The tougher rules affect everyone in London, Kent, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Surrey (excluding Waverley), Gosport, Havant, Portsmouth, Rother and Hastings, Bedford, Central Bedfordshire, Milton Keynes, Luton, Peterborough, Hertfordshire and Essex (excluding Colchester, Uttlesford and Tendring).
