PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Police Department is investigating a shooting on a Kensington street, where police say a teenage shooting victim was found. According to authorities, just after 10 p.m. on Thursday, police were dispatched to the 800 block of E Allegheny Avenue for a report of gunshots. Officials say responding officers found a 15-year-old girl lying on G Street with a gunshot wound to both thighs. She was transported to Temple University Hospital, where she is in critical condition, but expected to survive, police say. Chief Inspector Scott Small says about 15 minutes later, police heard gunshots as they were investigating the scene. Officers ran in the direction and found a 25-year-old man firing shots, police say. MORE LOCAL HEADLINES According to Small, officers were able to get him to lay down and hand over his weapon. Police say he was also shot in both legs and taken to Temple University Hospital, where he is in stable condition. Officials say investigators believe he was the one who was firing shots on the 800 block of E Allegheny, where the teenage girl was struck. The man was also taken into custody, police say. According to investigators, 14 spent shell casings were found at the scene. Police say cars on E Allegheny Avenue were also struck by gunfire. This is a developing story.

City leaders are trying to make sure trouble doesn’t continue into the summer with a new curfew, among other proposals.Ocean City officials described a wild, raucous Memorial Day weekend where police and EMS fielded nearly 1,000 calls, many surrounding unruly teens."The sheer number of individuals was alarming," stated Ocean City Police Chief, Jay Prettyman. "We had an increase in fights.

PHILADELPHIA - The new leader of SEPTA's police force is ready to tackle the tall task of improving safety and restoring confidence in the nation's sixth-largest public transportation system.Chief Chuck Lawson, who spent 30 years as a transit officer, said reducing gun violence on SEPTA property is "undoubtedly" the biggest challenge he's facing. "My biggest challenge undoubtedly right now is gun violence we’re seeing on the system that we’ve never experienced in previous years," Chief Lawson said.This week alone, a 19-year-old man was shot on the 15th and Market street platform. TRENTON, N.J. - A police pursuit that ended in a crash on a New Jersey highway led to the discovery of firearms stolen from a Pennsylvania gun store, sources say.FOX 29 was on scene at Rt. 29 in Trenton near the Calhoun Street Bridge, where Trenton and Middletown Township Police were investigating and collecting evidence. Police say officers were chasing the car before it crashed on the New Jersey highway. Evidence collected from the vehicle's trunk included multiple firearms, both assault rifles and handguns, with tags from a gun store. Sources tell FOX 29's Steve Keeley, that the chase began in Pennsylvania at a gun store in Bucks County. Five people were captured on surveillance video using a Kia, reported stolen out of Philadelphia, to access the second story of the LugerMan gun store in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, sources say. While inside, the suspects broke glass cases and stole the firearms, per police sources. As officers from the Middletown Township Police Department arrived on scene, they chased the Kia and used stop sticks to disable the vehicle. Law enforcement sources say the vehicle made it over the Calhoun Street Bridge, where Trenton Police got involved, capturing three of the five suspects. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESEugene Golubtsov, the owner of the LugerMan store, spoke with FOX 29 and detailed the events he saw on his store's surveillance video.

PHILADELPHIA - A traffic stop quickly became a homicide investigation after a deadly discovery was made in Philadelphia's Kingessing section Sunday night.Police had pulled over a speeding car on 57th and Springfield streets when they found an unresponsive man in the back seat.The 20-year-old was suffering from a gunshot wound to the shoulder.As officers transferred the victim to their patrol car, police say the driver and passenger jumped back into the car and sped off, leaving the victim behind.MORE HEADLINES:Police then transported the victim to a local hospital, where he died just minutes later.

PHILADELPHIA - A 19-year-old woman ended up in the hospital after police say her boyfriend's firearm went off inside an apartment Sunday afternoon.The shooting happened on the 1400 block of 15th Street, which is located just blocks from Temple University campus in North Philadelphia. It is unclear if the apartment is student, or off-campus, housing.Police say the woman was shot in the lower body when her 22-year-old boyfriend was cleaning his gun, and it went off.MORE HEADLINES:She was transported to a local hospital in stable condition as her boyfriend was held for questioning, according to authorities.

PHILADELPHIA - A violent start to Memorial Day Weekend in Philadelphia has left two people dead, and another two critically injured, in two separate double shootings.Two men were found struck in the first shooting of the morning on the 300 block of Cambria Street just after 3 a.m. Saturday.A 26-year-old suffering from multiple gunshot wounds was pronounced dead at a local hospital; while a 22-year-old is in critical condition after being shot twice.MORE HEADLINES:Two women were then struck by more gunfire as a second double shooting erupted just a few hours later on the 100 block of East Allegheny Avenue.The first victim, a 44-year-old woman, died after being shot twice.

Memorial Day long weekend, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen extended the deadline for a deal to raise the government’s $31.4 trillion debt ceiling, but only by four days.Originally, Yellen said the deadline was as early as June 1 to avoid a potential default but in a letter to Congress on Friday, the date was extended to June 5.Yellen said her department would make more than $130 billion in scheduled payments in the first two days of the month, including to veterans and Social Security and Medicare recipients, but encouraged the White House and Republicans to come to an agreement “as soon as possible.”“If Congress fails to increase the debt limit, it would cause severe hardship to American families, harm our global leadership position, and raise questions about our ability to defend our national security interests,” she wrote.The extension comes as President Joe Biden and Republican Speaker Kevin McCarthy appeared to narrow in on a two-year budget deal that was aimed at curbing federal deficits.The pair are hoping to strike a compromise over the weekend, but any deal would need to be a compromise as support would be needed from Republicans and Democrats to pass a divided and narrowly-controlled Congress.On Friday evening before departing for Camp David, Biden said “things are looking good.”“I’m hoping we’ll have some clear evidence tonight before the clock strikes 12 that we have a deal,” he said. “But it’s very close.”Despite potential hang-ups, including over stiffer work requirements on people receiving government food stamps, both sides appeared to be optimistic that they could find a deal.“I’m a total optimist,” McCarthy said Friday.

PHILADELPHIA - The heartbroken mother of a baby-faced Philadelphia teen who was gunned down while riding home on a SEPTA bus earlier this week remembers her son as a "special boy" who was loved by many.Randy Mills, 15, was shot and killed aboard a Route 23 SEPTA bus late Wednesday night near the 5200 block of Germantown Avenue, according to police. The shooting, which was captured on a bus surveillance cameras, shows a person in wearing a mask and dark hooded sweatshirt confront Mills just before he's shot in the chest.The shooter fled the bus before police arrived. Responding officers rushed Mills to Albert Einstein Hospital where he died shortly after his arrival. MORE LOCAL HEADLINE"I got a call saying we believe Randy got shot, I said ‘huh?!’, of course I was shocked," Kesha Langford said. She recalled the final conversation that she had with her son, a student at Roxborough High School. "He said ‘I love you’ and ‘I’ll be home early’ and ‘what are you cooking?’," Kesha said. Roxborough High School is a community still reeling from an ambush shooting that killed 14-year-old Nicholas Elizalde and wounded four others last fall.Police are also searching for a person of interest who Langford believes was captured on bus surveillance footage rifling through Randy's dying bodying.Philadelphia police have released surveillance video from a SEPTA bus where a young man was fatally shot. "I was my son's hand move as if he was trying to say ‘get off me!’," Kesha said.

WILDWOOD, N.J. - One of New Jersey's most popular shore towns has banned alcohol on the beach and boardwalk just days before the unofficial start of summer. Leaders in Wildwood unanimously passed an ordinance that immediately bans the possession of alcohol on the beach and boardwalk.This new ordinance not only prohibits the drinking and/or open display of alcohol, but also says the mere existence of any kind of alcohol is prohibited," Wildwood Mayor Pete Bryron said. Designated restaurants or permitted events on the beach and boardwalk are the only exceptions to the new rules, according to a press released shared by the city Thursday. The ordinance that passed in Wildwood mirrors edicts currently in other shore towns that aim to crack down on possession and consumption on the beach and boardwalk.Commissioner of Public Safety Steve Mikulski said drinking in the sun on vacation "often leads to excess and unruly behavior, not to mention health risks." "This is a matter of public safety," Commissioner Mikulski said.

WILMINGTON, De. - Prosecutors in Delaware announced they dismantled two large-scale drug rings that plagued to local communities. United States Attorney David Weiss and federal agents from the FBI and DEA met with the media on Thursday to discuss the operations that peddled narcotics, including fentanyl and methamphetamine in communities in Dover and Rosemont. "The drugs sold and the toxic mixture created are becoming more dangerous, the tactics deployed by the defendants are more sophisticated," Weiss said. Investigators showed pictures of the large-scale, illegal drug operation being run in Dover in which undercover agents made multiple buys of fentanyl and methamphetamine over the last five months. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESThey argue the arrests of the Fountain brothers, Dwayne, and Martin, and two other suspects, lead to a record-setting haul of 7.5 kilograms of fentanyl.

CENTRAL ISLIP - Hip-hop artist Fetty Wap returned to court Wednesday, where he was sentenced to six years on federal drug charges. Back in August, he pleaded guilty to a conspiracy drug charge admitting to participating in drug trafficking that brought illegal substances from the West Coast to Long Island. He wore a tan jumpsuit and waved at his family (who filled one side of the courtroom). Rapper Fetty Wap, best known for his 2015 hit 'Trap Queen,' was one of six people arrested for allegedly conspiring to sell and possess drugs throughout Long Island and New Jersey.The defense attorney asked for the minimum sentence of 60 months, saying it’s a sad day for her client, a success story will be sentenced, and he will rise above as he never avoided this day.The judge said the one thing you cannot escape is that there were other choices for you before she imposed the sentence. She also said, "Good luck Mr.
