NEW CASTLE, Del. - Video released by police in New Castle County shows officers joining together to lift a car off a woman's arm after she somehow became trapped underneath the vehicle Wednesday morning.The New Castle County Division of Police said officers were called to Fieldstone Lane in the community of Country Creek and found a 70-year-old woman with her left arm pinned underneath the front driver's side tire of a Hyundai Santa Fe.Police explained that a neighbor tried to use a carjack to free the woman before officers arrived, but it did not raise high enough. Bodycam footage shows officers in New Castle County lifting a car off a 70-year-old woman's arm after she somehow became trapped underneath the vehicle. Bodycam footage shows three officers surround the front tire and lift the car, while another officer slides the woman out from underneath the car.Police said the woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment and was admitted in "serious, but stable condition."Investigators have not said what caused the woman to become pinned underneath the tire, but alcohol is not believed to have played a role."The quick thinking and physical actions of the bystander and the officers from the Division of Police played a major role in this patient being protected from further injury, and possibly death," Chief of the New Castle County Emergency Medical Services Division Mark R.

PHILADELPHIA - A suspect is in custody after investigators say he lead police on a car chase through Northeast Philadelphia and opened fire on officers when he crashed into a pole. The chaotic incident unfolded on the 6800 block of Ditman Street just before 5:30 p.m. when officers spotted a black Jeep Trail Hawk that was sought in connection to a number of recent robberies. Investigators say a man entered the vehicle with police following which started a pursuit through Mayfair that ended when the suspect crashed into a pole on Revere Street.

They say the photo was taken last week, though it is unknown who took the photo or how it made its way to social media. The district has also not confirmed which one of their schools the incident occurred in. In their statement, the district says the photo does not represent the district's universal values they strive to instill in students and staff. School officials say the incident was immediately investigated, adding that it was an isolated incident and "no malice was intended.""The actions of the teacher were entirely inappropriate and unacceptable, no matter the context," the statement reads.

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police have released new video showing the moment a pair of gunmen opened fire in North Philadelphia and critically injuring a 31-year-old man. The incident occurred shortly after 6 p.m. Monday  on the 600 block of North 13th Street. Police say the victim was walking down the block and stopped momentarily in a parking lot to talk to a friend. During his conversation, police say he heard gunshots coming from a nearby walkway and tried to run. The victim was shot a total of six times, suffering injuries to his back, shoulder and left arm.

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police are searching for a suspect they say punched a woman in the face multiple times during a home invasion in Chinatown early Thursday morning. The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. inside a third-floor apartment on the 900 block of Winter Street. Police say the victim, a 53-year-old woman, was inside the apartment when she heard a knock on the door that is located in the lobby. She opened the door and a male suspect armed with a 10-inch knife shoved her into the apartment's kitchen while demanding money. According to police, the suspect pushed the victim into her bedroom and punched her in the face several times.

PHILADELPHIA - An hours-long standoff in Overbrook ended with an arrest after authorities said a man called police on himself and claimed to have possibly shot someone.The barricade started just after 7 p.m. on the 6100 block of West Columbia Avenue, according to investigators. Police said the suspect called police and said he was armed and possibly shot someone. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESWhen police arrived at the home, the man refused to come out and a nearly three hours long barricade started.A preliminary report from police said that it's possible that a woman and a teenage girl were also inside the property. The barricade ended just after 10:30, according to police.

WASHINGTON - In a rebuff to former President Donald Trump, the Supreme Court is allowing the release of presidential documents sought by the congressional committee investigating the Jan. 6 insurrection.The justices on Wednesday rejected a bid by Trump to withhold the documents from the committee until the issue is finally resolved by the courts.
