ArriveCAN app that sent fully vaccinated travellers erroneous messages saying they needed to quarantine affected more than 10,000 people, according to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).The extent of the glitch, which was revealed in a statement sent to Global News by the CBSA, represents 0.7 per cent of the typical number of cross-border travellers each week.Global News has also learned it took the government 12 days to notify travellers of the error.

In March 2021, it was expanded to anyone crossing the border by land.The app collects personal data, such as name, telephone number, address, and vaccination status, which is then used to help public.
