Lockdown rules for Christmas could be announced as soon as today after a UK-wide coronavirus summit. Cabinet Office minister Michael Gove is due to hold a COBRA meeting with leaders of Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland at 4pm to thrash out a plan.
