Emmerdale favourite Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) is faced with a health setback in upcoming scenes.The Woolpack chef suffered a life-changing stroke last month.Next week, April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) prepares welcome home decorations for her dad's return from hospital while Mary Goskirk (Louise Jameson) reassures her daughter Rhona (Zoe Henry) she’s there to support her throughout his recovery.Meanwhile, in the hospital, Marlon thanks his nurse Gail and prepares to leave.Once he’s settled in, it’s slightly chaotic as they start to work out a way of going forward.April’s pleased to spend time with her dad but when she helps Marlon to a drink of water, he starts choking.

The little girl is terrified believing he’s having another stroke and calls desperately for Rhona, leaving both April and Marlon distraught.

April arranges to spend time at a friend’s house the following day rather than be at home. Marlon later despairs to see the stress his condition is placing on his family, adamant he should return to hospital.

Rhona plays mediator between a tearful April and Marlon but the little girl wants to talk to her father alone. The family begin to navigate their new future but Marlon finds it hard to communicate.Rhona jumps in back at work in the vets helping Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) with an injured dog.

As a 96 year old, it’s surprising and astonishing she hasn’t had to do this before."She later sat atop a velvet-lined throne with a blanket across her knees to watch the proceedings outdoors, as the mounted guards performed to music.She wore a grey cardigan encrusted with jewels around her shoulders, over a blue floral patterned top.It comes after her health woes left the monarch unable to appear at the opening of Parliament - an event she had only missed twice before, both times due to pregnancy.Prince Charles appeared in her place to provide the opening speech.Fans were loving seeing their monarch in public again, as they took to Twitter to air their thoughts.One penned: "Why am I smiling so sheepishly.
