SIR Elton John has been forced to cancel two dates on his delayed Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour after testing positive for coronavirus.
The singer, 74, confirmed he had been vaccinated and said he had not felt too unwell. In a statement yesterday, Elton: “It is with great regret that the Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour dates in Dallas set for Tuesday, January 25 and Wednesday, January 26 must be postponed due to Elton recently testing positive for COVID-19. “Fortunately, Elton is fully vaccinated and boosted, and is experiencing only mild symptoms. “Fans should hold on to their tickets as they will be honoured at the rescheduled dates to be announced soon. “Elton and the Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour look forward to returning to the stage shortly.” In September last year he was forced to postpone his UK and European leg of the tour until 2023 after suffering a hip injury.
At the time he said: “At the end of my summer break I fell awkwardly on a hard surface and have been in considerable pain and discomfort in my hip ever since. “Despite intensive physio and specialist treatment, the pain has continued to get worse and is leading to increasing difficulties moving.
