Efforts will continue today to assess the impact of the ransomware attack on the Health Service Executive, healthcare facilities and services.
The HSE has said it will take a number of days before its systems, which were shut down early yesterday morning, are restored.
Throughout the night and into this morning, HSE and National Cyber Security Centre officials, along with external IT contractors and gardai, have continued their efforts to figure out the extent of the ransomware infection and whether sensitive patient data has been compromised.
Thought to have been carried out by an international group of hackers, the breach has been described as possibly the most significant cybercrime attack on the Irish state.
