Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has issued updated guidance for people who were receiving benefits before the coronavirus pandemic began in March 2020.The start of the new financial year on April 6, 2021 brought with it changes to benefit payments delivered by the DWP and HM Revenue and Customs ( HMRC ).These changes included an increase of 0.5 per cent on benefits such as Universal Credit, State Pension, Personal Independence Payment and Child Benefit.Chancellor Rishi Sunak also announced during the UK Government's Spring Budget in March, that the £20 weekly uplift to Universal Credit would remain in place until the end of September, 2021 and working households receiving Tax Credits would receive a one-off payment of £500 before.
