Drivers have been warned that not declaring one of 118 health conditions to could be hit with a fine as high as £1,000. It comes after the licencing authority gets ready to update its guidance relating to eye conditions in the coming weeks.
Drivers can now update their information more easily by now being able to ask a specialist nurse or optician to sign a medical questionnaire.
According to the DVLA, there are 118 medical conditions that the agency needs to made aware of if drivers plan to get behind the wheel.
While a medical condition doesn't automatically require a licence surrender, it may need to be handed over in certain situations that are deemed unsafe, the Daily Record reports.
