Organisers of this year's Dublin Pride parade say it has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. In a statement, they said it is with great regret that Dublin LGBTQ Pride has decided to cancel its annual parade in June. "We feel the scale of one of the largest events in the country would place unnecessary pressure on essential frontline services and resources that will have been at full stretch for many months," the statement said.

The parade, with 'In This Together' as this year's theme, was initially postponed until September. Dublin Pride is the largest fundraising event of the year for many LGBTI+ community organisations and charities in Ireland.
