WASHINGTON : US top coronavirus adviser Dr Anthony Fauci on Sunday said that "things are going to get worse" in the United States as the Delta variant has led to a surge in coronavirus cases in the country.

Fauci also said that he does not think the United States will return to lockdowns, even as the number of coronavirus cases in the country spikes largely because of the highly infectious delta variant. "I don't think we're going to see lockdowns.
