KENSINGTON - Authorities say a young man is fighting for his life after a double shooting in Kensington early Saturday night.

Police responded to the 1900 block of East Wishart Street just after 1 a.m. for reports of a shooting. Responding officers discovered a 22-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds to the arm, hip, back and abdomen.

He was taken by police to Temple University Hospital in critical condition.Police also transported a 22-year-old man to Temple Hospital with gunshot wounds to the ankle and leg.

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA - Police in South Philadelphia are investigating after a man was shot and killed Monday afternoon.Police responded to the 1800 block of South Corlies Street Monday, just after 2:15 p.m., on the report of a shooting, officials said.Responding officers found a 27-year-old man shot three times in the head.The man was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.Police say the investigation is ongoing.

KIGALI – Rwanda's prosecution on Monday said it intends to hold a joint trial of Paul Rusesabagina, whose story inspired the film “Hotel Rwanda,” together with 16 prisoners alleged to be rebel fighters.Rusesabagina, 66, is a founder of the Rwanda Movement for Democratic Change, a coalition of opposition groups, which has an armed wing known as the National Liberation Front. The government accuses the rebel group of killing Rwandans in the country's north.In court last month, Rusesabagina admitted his ties to the rebels, but said the group was never meant to kill Rwandans.Rwandan authorities said the rebel fighters to stand trial with Rusesabagina include two former spokesmen, now in detention in Kigali.
