An NHS boss rebuked over failings during Dundee’s drugs death crisis receives a £31,959 a year payment for professional excellence.Dr Drew Walker’s “distinction award”, which is on top of his six-figure salary at NHS Tayside, may have entitled him to over £300,000 since 2009.He was chairman of the Dundee Alcohol and Drug Partnership (DADP), which was heavily criticised in a commission set up two years ago to investigate rising drug-related deaths in the city.The city recorded 66 deaths in 2018, up from 38 two years earlier, and averaged the highest fatality rate per 1000 people in any Scottish council area.Last night, Labour MSP Monica Lennon called on Dr Walker, who is also director of public health at NHS Tayside, to make a donation to
