PHILADELPHIA - A firefighter is dead after an early morning fire caused a building to collapse in Fairhill, according to officials.Lieutenant Sean Williamson, a 27-year veteran of the Philadelphia Fire Department, was killed after a portion of the building collapsed.Crews responded to the fire as it broke out at a commercial building on the 300 block West Indiana Avenue around 2 a.m. They were able to get the fire under control in about 15 minutes. However, a large portion of the building collapsed as officials surveyed the damage and crews attended to displaced residents.Six people were reportedly trapped underneath the building, five firefighters and one license and inspections inspector.Five were rescued from the fire, including Fire Marshal Sylvester Burton, Lieutenant Clarence Johnson, Firefighter Dennis Bailey and Firefighter Robert Brennan, Jr., and transported to Temple University Hospital.

WILMINGTON, Del. - Four people have been indicted on dozens of charges in Delaware after an investigation into a series of incidents including stolen cars and shootings. According to the Wilmington Police Department, Kyair Keys, Walike Parham, Markel Richards and Jahmir Morris-Whit collectively face 75 charges for crimes between January 14 and January 22. Of those charges, 63 are felonies, according to police. Police say on January 14 around 3:37 p.m., shots were fired on the 300 block of West 23rd Street, where a daycare with a teacher and three children was struck by gunfire. Authorities say on January 20 around 8:46 p.m., officers heard gunfire on the 1000 block of Lombard Street. When officers arrived, they saw four armed suspects get into a car, according to police. Officials say police began to chase the four suspects and Morris-Whit, 21, was taken into custody while the remaining suspects fled the scene. Two days later on January 22, officers responded to reports of gunshots at a BP gas station on the 200 block of South Heald Street, authorities say.

DOVER, Del. - Delaware state senate appears poised to approve a package of gun reform measures amid heavy opposition from national gun rights groups. The bills, proposed after the massacres in Buffalo and Texas, would ban assault weapons, raise the age to purchase a long gun or rifle from 18 to 21 and expand background checks.Senate President David Sokola told FOX 29's Jeff Cole that he believes the measures would make Delaware streets safer."There are a number of places that have banned magazine capacities the data shows those places typically are safer," Sokloa said. Other bills would make gun dealers liable i they negligently sold a weapon that was later used in a crime. Meanwhile, Mitch Denham, the president of Delaware Gun Rights, called the effort, "disingenuous. PHILADELPHIA - A Montana man was found with a loaded handgun and an additional magazine in his carry-on bag Thursday at Philadelphia International Airport, officials said. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers spotted the 9mm handgun during an x-ray scan of the passenger's carry-on items, according to a press release. Officials said the gun was loaded with 13 bullets, including one in the chamber. A search also uncovered a loaded magazine inside the man's carry-on bag. Philadelphia police confiscated the gun and briefly detained the man for questioning, according to officials.

NEWARK, Del. - Part of I-95 was shut down for several hours Tuesday after a car spun out, crossed the interstate and hit a dump truck.Police say a BMW was traveling northbound near Newark when the driver lost control, spun out, hit a crash cushion and crossed over onto the southbound side. An oncoming truck then collided with the spinning car. DELAWARE COUNY - It's been nearly 100 years since his execution, but the family of one Pennsylvania boy are still maintaining his innocence. Alexander McClay Williams was a 16-year-old student at Glen Mills School in Delaware County when he was accused of murdering 33-year-old Vida Robare.Robare, a "house matron" at the school, was stabbed 47 times with an ice pick in a case that made headlines across the country. Williams, who was doing chores unsupervised at the time of the murder, confessed to the crime three times without an attorney or parent present, according to reports.
