There has been a decrease in both Covid-19 hospitalisations and ICU entries, according to the latest data from this morning.

As of 8am, there were 528 people in hospital with the virus. This is a decrease of 17 on figures reported yesterday. As on 11.30am, there were 110 people with Covid-19 in ICUs, which is down seven from yesterday.

This comes as the National Public Health Emergency advised the Government that there should be a return to some restrictions, including reduced capacity at indoor events and an earlier closing time for the hospitality sector.

The Government has also delayed the introduction of PCR and antigen testing for air and sea passengers arriving into Ireland until Sunday.
