A dad with grim Covid outlook has left hospital to applause in a heartwarming video. Steve Normandale, 63, went into hospital after he had a fall and contracted the virus.

Daughter Kim, 31, was told by doctors at Bradford Hospital they expected the illness to be fatal. But the the father of two fought back - leading him to be wheeled out of hospital to applause from staff.

Kim, who lives in Wibsey, said: "On October 25, my dad was admitted to the hospital after a fall, reports Yorkshire Live. "But whilst there, he contracted Covid-19. "My brother and I were called to the ward on November 11, my 31st birthday to say goodbye. "I stayed holding his hand, wearing all the PPE, so I could be near him.
