A father who caught coronavirus from his NHS hero daughter before she died from Covid-19 is donating his blood plasma to help others fight off the virus.
Alan Mack's daughter Rebecca, a nurse on a child's cancer unit, died in April while self-isolating at home after contracting coronavirus.
The 29-year-old was described by colleagues as an incredible nurse who "just wanted to make everyone smile". Rebecca, from Morpeth, Northumberland, had called an ambulance and left the door open but she tragically died before it arrived.
Alan, 62, had Covid-19 himself and it is hoped that the antibodies in his blood plasma will help others recover from the virus.
